As artist Alida uses pastel as a working medium. At an early age, Alida began to struggle with rheamathoit arthritis, which worsened over the years to such an extent that she almost lost complete use of her hands. Through prayer and medical technology as well as numerous operations she has regained the use of her hands and today her works are better than ever.
Alida is also an avid photographer and has achieved the SA title, as well as received both national and international awards and has twice been under the top achievers in the Agfa Wildlife Awards.
Alida is a very talented artist and is able to handle any design with great success. She also has vast knowledge and perception of anatomy. Each of her works of art is unique and an investment, there is only one of a kind.
Alida’s works of art are very realistic. One of the characteristics of her work is her ability to capture feeling and atmosphere. The themes she uses tell a story and touch the emotions of the art lover. Alida has the ability through her work to give the beholder a way of escape, a way to get lost in their own imagination.
